New Reels: ‘Life Itself’ by Glass Animals

The wonderful Glass Animals are back (so much love still for their song Gooey) with a new album (How to be a Human Being, to be released on August 2016) and a strange and unnerving video to go with their new single.

Life Itself – Glass Animals

The video was released on June 6, 2016 and its directed by photographer turned video director Neil Krug. He has also directed videos by Boards of Canada and Ladytron.

Glass Animals hail from Oxford, and had great success especially in America (selling almost half a million copies) with their debut album Zaba. They have played festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. I first heard them on David Letterman and just from that I was sold.

Now regarding the video, that´s a different story…did the woman kidnap the boy and is remembering what she did? Is she the mother who gets the call about her son? Is she waiting to hear how the deal is going to go? Are the couple driving somewhere with the picture of the boy on the dashboard going to pick him up? I don´t know. Do you?
