New Reels: ‘A Change Of Heart’ by The 1975

This week’s new video comes from, well, just about the hottest band on the planet at the moment…

And that’s no hyperbole either. Their recentlt released 2nd album, the magnificently titled I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It debuted the charts at number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic upon it’s release back in February and they’ve spent much pf this year playing sold out shows across Europe, Asia, and North America. It’s not hard to see why either, with the band’s post-modern mix of indie, synth-pop, rock, funk, and the kitchen sink coming across without pretension or contrivance, but rather as the sound of four lads making music inspired by their highly eclectic tastes.

And so it is with A Change Of Heart, which certainly draws on their love of pop music, and is simply very wonderful and quite addictive. The video, written by and starring lead singer Matt Healy is an intriguing clown/marionette/fairground affair in monochrome, and is yet another victory for a band who, at the moment, seem incapable of putting a foot wrong.
