New Reels: ‘(Cellophane) So Cruel’ by Miami Horror

This week’s hot video comes from Australian electro-indie outfit Miami Horror aka DJ and producer Benjamin Plant.

Plant first appeared in 2008 on Virgin Records with an E.P. called ‘Bravado’ and since then has released to long-players, 2010’s Illumination and this years All Possible Futures. Live they expand to a full band and have supported the likes of Lily Allen and Friendly Fires on their tours of Australia.

It looks like Miami Horror are beginning to break big outside their Antipodean home and they spent much of may and June this year touring in America. Whilst at the moment they have no plans to go to Europe, or certainly no tour dates listed anyhow, one can’t help but feel that on the strength of this infectious slice of electro-pop with it’s rather intriguing video featuring lots of elongated limbs connecting various domestic scenes they would go down rather well. We’ve championed other Australian acts this year and it seems to be producing some of the best electronic music around, and this is certainly evidence of that.
