New Reels: ‘Lenny Kravitz’ by Alexandre Chatelard

Presenting the Parisienne artist’s brand new and slightly NSFW video.

Alexandre Chatelad has been releasing music since 2009 but only got round to releasing his debut album this year. Entitled Elle était une fois it is an exuberant, adventurous and wholly charming leftfield electro-pop album that gets the big thumbs up from us here at MVD.

Taken from the album is latest single ‘Lenny Kravitz’ the second single we’ve reviewed in recent times which is named after a famous musician. The video, directed by Allen & Smithee, can be seen as an old man’s fantasy which ultimately doesn’t turn out to be what it seems. Despite the semi-nudity the whole thing has a playful, almost cartoon-ish feel about it with the joke being on the old men. It certainly brightened up our wet summer afternoon here in Liverpool…
